Avengers: Endgame Review

Avengers.Endgame.What.A.Movie.

Director: Joe and Anthony Russo

Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth

The movie which continues the infinity war, basically a movie 10 years in the making turned out to be amazing at best. I've been in a lot of heated debate about the movie but there was one definite conclusion: Every thought about the movie results in disappointment.

The plot of the movie revolves around the measures taken by the Avengers to undo the snap from Infinity War. There was amazing potential to this but the result is upsetting at best. If you take out the emotional scenes, the story seems pretty childish which is a first for the MCU. The story is clearly written to be a crowd pleaser with tons of loopholes, contradiction to the existing storyline and a lack of hard-hitting moments( except one, which if you have seen the movie, know which one) weird/ unnecessary character arcs and there is a complete mess with the timeline. Overall, it doesn't feel like a Marvel movie.
The screenplay is an area where they have done justice to some extent. The witty one-liners and tons of smaller teams provide a bit of comic relief. However, unlike a standard MCU film, there is a lack of powerful dialogues.
The one place where they have aced it is with the aftereffects and the CGI. Seriously they have outdone themselves with the CGI. The music is well knit into the movie with the trademark Avengers Music still delivering them goosebumps.
Overall I found that people think its a good ending for the saga but I feel that maybe it delivers as a fan film but sucks as an independent film. It almost seemed like a repetition of Captain Marvel in the sense that the movie makers were so unsure about the future that they kept tons of plotholes to later exploit unlike a tight self-explanatory and an 'Ohh my god that's so amazing, they've outdone themselves and I cannot stop thinking about this' movie
I would give this movie 3.5/5 for the aftereffects, the amazing music track and the rare hard-hitting moment(s) that were on point.
