Johnny English Strikes Back

Johnny English, the mystical, clumsy, 'ladies man' who always can and will save the day has returned once again. In  Johnny English Strikes Back, this time it's a cyber attack that reveals the identity all the active undercover agents in Britain that put him out of retirement to find the mastermind behind the hack!
The movie is directed by David Kerr, the screenplay is done by William Davies and the cast includes Rowan Atkinson, Olga Kurylenko, Emma Thompson, and obviously his beloved sidekick Ben Miller in the role of Bough.
Honestly, I believe that more than a decade ago, if someone had told me that Rowan Atkinson could have made any role other than Mr. Bean his own, it would've sounded crazy but he has perfectly impersonated his role as Agent Johnny English and aced the genre of comedy and high action-filled movies. With Johnny English Strikes back, he has done the same( or at least tried his best to).
The movie begins in a world of technologically advanced systems with A.I. on the brink of controlling everything. Then comes along Agent English who has been away from this life and become a teacher instead. Him being called up for duty is when the cracks in the plot start to show. He is reluctant to use the 'Advanced gadgets' and amazing technologies we have seen him previously use in both the previous movies and they go mostly analog. This was one annoying bit for me because apart from the clumsy and reckless behavior from him which had us all laughing on the edge of our seats, it was the technology that put me in awe when it came to the first two movies. The Royce in Johnny English Reborn was a marvelous creation, something of which they should have tried to replicate or recreate in this one but in my opinion, this movie was in fact technologically disappointing based on the standards the series set for itself.
Rowan Atkinson has once again nailed his role. There couldn't have been any complaints about his character. Ben Miller's role as Bough has kind of been through a full story arc and we discover more about him in this movie( If anyone ever wondered what his name was; we finally know it.)Adam James who plays the role of Pegasus in this movie has under delivered. Honestly, between the Prime Minister's orders and English's demands, he never seemed to be in charge.
Overall, the screenplay of the movie is good if you are new to the series but those who have followed the series from the beginning will be disappointed because the film has loads of previously used jokes and thus it ends up predictable at best. The new comical elements are few and it seemed like they actually played safe with this one.
So overall based on all of this, I would give this movie a 2.5/5 for the acting performances of Rowan Atkinson and Ben Miller and for the hilarious comic sequences which have been unfortunately been repeated. That being said, I'm a big fan of the series and in spite of the movie under delivering, I would suggest everyone, go ahead and watch it if you want to watch a light-hearted, feel-good action comedy!
